Everything Everything

Ok I think starting to write some lines about my favourite bands is not the worst way while I'm waiting for concerts or new releases. Time for EVERYTING EVERYTHING

The quartett from Manchester will surely differ from everything (everything - haha) that you ever heard before. These guys definitely wanted to make something unique and that I'd say ended up very well.
The first time I saw them they were supporting Keane on their forest tour in June 2010. 4  extremely young guys entering the stage and when they started it took me a moment to realise that they were actually playing not tuneing their guitars. Jonathan Higgs, Alex Robertshaw, Jeremy Pritchard and Michael Spearman are very humble guys they simply make  music because they love it and they really got talent.

Their debut album "Man Alive"  really grew on me. At first I just liked 3 or 4 song but as I listened to it more often the more songs i liked. What is it that makes Everything Everything so special? Well it's hard to define, First of all it's not that common that a singer sings a lot in falsetto voice.  I woulnd't say Jonathan is "the  typical singer" he probably wouldn't have any chance in all these pretty dump casting shows at least not in my country i think. It's unbelievable how fast he sings- singing merges with rap.

Their lyrics deal with problems of humanity. Making mistakes the future generations have to deal with, the western world dominating, not being thankful for your health and all the chances you have got. And about Photoshop. (Actually all the fake in the world). Those lyrics do matter but you certainly have to think about them which is something I like - although probably you'll never know the exact meaning unless you're Jonathan Higgs.

Their synths (not always the "common synths") create wide musical landscapes  and perfectly set musical highlights. What Alex does on the guitar is just insane- very talented guy. For me it is often the bass (played by Jeremy) who helps me to nod in time, not the drums. Ah the drums! Well I'm not an expert but i would describe them as if the drums sometimes work angainst the others and making the music so exciting. I'm always stunned how well the vocals and backing vocals match. Most of the songs a not really sing-alongs and the melodies are often hard to understand but after repeated listening it all makes sense, trust me. Their influences come from every musical style: rap R'n'B , Punk, pop,.... and i even think the classics like Bach.

So these guys are insanely good musicians and they live performances blew me away everytime. What you get on the CD you get live. When you add this special atmosphere of concerts and a good crowd you can imagine having a blast at their concerts shouting "who did you photoshop handsome" back at them.

Their follow up album is currently in the making and I can't wait to hold in my hands (hopefully soon).

So here's Two for Nero

and my personal fav: Photoshop handsome

Hope I' haven't done them  too much injustice as I love their music.
Cheers
